World’s Largest Golf Outing – FAQs

Q. What is the goal of the World's Largest Golf Outing?
A. The goal of the World's Largest Golf Outing is to enjoy a great day of golf while proudly supporting Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP). The mission of Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. By participating in this event, you're helping WWP foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history.

Q. Do I need an official handicap to enter the World's Largest Golf Outing?
A. No - you do not need an official handicap. The events are open to golfers of all skill level and use a four person team playing a Scramble Format.

Q. What is a Scramble Format and how does it work?
A. The Scramble Format is often used in amateur events such as this. The four person scramble format is a fun way to play events and allows players of all abilities to play together.  In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.

Q. How does the fund raising work? Do we make a pledge and get donors?
A. $5 of each entry fee will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project.  We are asking teams to ‘do their best’ to raise additional donations but this is not required.  We try to make it easy and the site provides email links on your team’s page for you to use to send to your friends, family and colleagues to help secure donations, 100% of which will go to Wounded Warrior Project.  The goal is to raise as much as possible to support Wounded Warrior Project.
